Samuel Johnson OAM has been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years as an actor, radio presenter and voiceover artist. Previously he was best known for his role in the cult hit The Secret Life Of Us, for which he won an AFI Best Actor Award. More recently, he has become known for his portrayal of Ian “Molly” Meldrum in Seven’s ratings smash Molly, for which he won the 2017 Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Television, Silver Logie Award for Best Actor and the 2016 AACTA Best Actor Award for Best Lead Actor.

 

In 2019, Samuel won Dancing with the Stars and raised $50,000 for Love Your Sister. Other television and film credits include Crackerjack, Eden, The Secret River, Paper Giants 2 Magazine Wars, Small Time Gangsters, Underbelly II, Rush, The Pacific, Wilfred and After the Deluge. As one of the most in-demand voiceover artists in Australia, Samuel has narrated audiobooks, film animations and television series; and has voiced major commercial campaigns.

 

Samuel has also appeared in The Full Monty, Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and The Weakest Link. In 2009, Samuel co‑founded Straightjacket Productions and toured theatre productions to regional Australia.
